Licensed Professional Counselor
We have a licensed professional counselor (LPC) at MHA to provide mental health care and support for your entire family.
Counselors work in a variety of concentrations, including school, family, substance abuse and mental health. Licensed Professional Counselors(LPCs) are master's level mental health service providers, trained to work with individuals, families, and groups in treating mental, behavioral, and emotional problems and disorders. The practice of professional counseling includes, but is not limited to, diagnosing and treating mental and emotional disorders. LPC's utilize various techniques that are aimed at the prevention of such disorders. According to the American Counseling Association, counselors examine a patient's thoughts, feelings and behaviors to create a plan for improvement (www.counseling.org). Counselors need strong communication skills, especially during therapy sessions. They need to be ethical and comfortable in stressful situations. Counselors also may interact with individuals closely related to a patient, such as friends or parents. At MHA we are here to provide counseling services along with personal care support if you desire.
A supportive Care Specialist is available and will be happy to assist you with any questions or care needs you may have.
